Treatment comparison
DHI is a variation of FUE — grafts are harvested the same way, but DHI implants them directly with an implanter pen instead of pre-made channels. The acronym matters less than the operator.
| FUE Hair Transplant | DHI Hair Transplant | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Individual follicles extracted from donor areas and implanted into thinning zones; the most common transplant technique. | Variation of FUE using implanter pens for direct placement, often marketed for denser hairline work. |
| Session time | 4-8 hours | 5-8 hours |
| Downtime | Scabbing 7-10 days; strenuous activity avoided ~2 weeks. | Similar to FUE: about a week of scabbing. |
| How long it lasts | Transplanted hair is generally long-lasting; native thinning may continue. | Comparable to FUE. |
| Observed Dubai prices | AED 2,075–17,500 | Quoted at consultation |
Consider classic FUE for larger coverage areas — it's typically faster per graft and widely offered, often at a lower per-graft price.
Consider DHI when hairline detail and density direction matter most, and for smaller refined areas — the implanter pen gives fine placement control.
Surgeon skill and graft planning drive results far more than the technique's name. Compare per-graft pricing, the surgeon's own cases, and be cautious with density guarantees.
